Our Story

Our Story

e-Saheli Mahila Vikas Foundation (EMVF) was incorporated in February 2025 as a Section 8 not-for-profit company in Pune, Maharashtra, built on a simple belief: where you live, what you earn or what language you speak should never decide whether you get the opportunity to become self-reliant.

We began where the need was greatest: with women in rural Maharashtra who had limited access to affordable training, but skills and the willingness to learn, but limited access to affordable training, institutions and learning in their own language. In our first 18 months, we conducted 15 skilling and distribution camps and facilitated free certified courses for more than 600 women, with every camp documented and every beneficiary digitally recorded.

Those experiences shaped one of our strongest beliefs: training alone is not enough. A certificate is not the finish line. It is the starting point. That is why we build programmes that stay with learners beyond the classroom, providing mentoring, tools, registration support and pathways to real opportunities for a year and beyond.

How We’re Built

We believe every contribution should move closer to the people and programmes it is meant to support.

EMVF follows a lean, digital first approach, using local language learning, direct procurement and partnerships with Gram Panchayats and colleges to reach communities efficiently. Our volunteer supported model helps us keep operations focused on creating impact, while maintaining transparency at every step.

We are donor funded and operate as a Section 8 organisation, with the registrations and certifications required for transparent giving, including 12A, 80G, CSR 1 and NITI Aayog Darpan. We are also ISO 9001:2015 certified, with verification and documentation built into the way we work.
